Autism & arts

Autism Speaks created a music video of the Five for Fighting song, "World", which features images of autistic children and their families. The band is generously donating $0.49 to Autism Speaks for each time the video is viewed - the funding goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment, please visit the link below to watch the video and pass it along to your friends and family. They are aiming for 10,000 hits, but hopefully we can help them to surpass this goal.

Click here to view it. Over the years I have met and photographed many autistic children and their families. I love when artists lend their celebrity to a good cause.

update: Fitness for a Cure

Those involved with last weekend's event have been forwarding my slide show url to friends and family, some of whom were not able to attend the event but were inspired to make a donation after viewing the photos! Very cool!

Fitness for a Cure success!

I had the pleasure of photographing Fitness for a Cure in Nashua, NH, last weekend. The event raised over $150,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN!

The afternoon family event featured face painting, ice cream, Locks of Love haircuts, and a fitness show by the St. Jude Performance Team. In the evening there was a formal dinner, silent auction and another show by the performance team. Several patients from the hospital were in town for the day, as well as parents, nurses and the hospital's CEO John Moses.

Please take a moment and look at a slideshow sampling of images from the day: www.emilieinc.com/stjude.

The reaction:
"These are absolutely amazing and thank you so much for your hard work for this event. I sent this around to our entire office and they are amazed by your work. You are extremely talented! Thank you so much for your support."

"Wow Emilie, You are so talented! Words could never explain how awesome the pictures are. You managed to capture all the perfect emotions of the day thru your pictures. I watched the slide show and cried my eyes out on how beautiful the pictures are. These pictures will send a message to all who view on how much we love St. Jude and the St. Jude families will have these forever..."

"I hope you know how much I appreciate your time, energy and talent. It's like God knew you were supposed to be with our team of angels! Emilie thank you so much! I absolutely loved loved the slide show!"
